President Donald Trump is insisting that his portrait displayed in the Colorado State Capitol be taken down, asserting that it has been “deliberately distorted” by an artist who previously painted former President Barack Obama but has “lost her talent over time.”
“The same artist created the portrait of President Obama, which looks fantastic, whereas mine is truly the worst. She must have lost her skills as she aged,” Trump stated on Truth Social.
The president noted that many Colorado residents have voiced their dissatisfaction regarding the poor-quality portrait. In a message directed at the state's governor, Jared Polis, Trump demanded the artwork's removal and labeled him a “radical leftist,” claiming that he allowed the Venezuelan drug cartel Tren de Aragua to “virtually take over” the city of Aurora.

- On January 16, Trump's photographer released his new inauguration portrait, which was compared online to a mugshot.
- On March 17, over 200 suspected members of the Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua were deported from the United States to a high-security prison in El Salvador, despite a court ruling that temporarily halted the process.
