President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that Ukraine will provide the United States with evidence of Russian assaults on its energy infrastructure. Despite the Kremlin's agreement to an “energy truce,” Russian forces continue to target gas and electricity supply facilities. The president made this statement during his regular evening address.

– I have directed the Ukrainian Minister of Defense to share with our American allies all the details regarding the damage inflicted on our energy infrastructure due to Russian shelling. Just yesterday, there was a deliberate Russian drone attack on the gas facilities in the Poltava region, as well as an artillery strike on Kherson that harmed the city's supply infrastructure. One of the Russian strikes on the city yesterday also resulted in damage to the heating infrastructure. This indicates that Russia intends to undermine diplomatic efforts and will persist in doing so, as Moscow's only strategy appears to be prolonging the conflict. Putin may vocalize an agreement with the American side, but in reality, the Russian military continues to exert pressure through all means of combat, – he stated.

The President reminded that Ukraine accepted the American proposal for an unconditional ceasefire on March 11, and since that date, Russia bears full responsibility for any delays in diplomacy. He urged for heightened pressure on the aggressor nation.

  • On March 27, Ukrainian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Heorhiy Tykhyi indicated that the so-called “energy truce” between Ukraine and Russia has been effective since March 25. Moscow's claim that the truce began on March 18 is a fabrication.
  • On March 25, Zelensky confirmed that Saudi Arabia had brokered a ceasefire in the Black Sea along with a prohibition on attacks against energy infrastructure.
