The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, convened another session of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief, focusing primarily on the escalation of unmanned vehicle production within Ukraine. As stated by the leader, the nation is significantly ramping up the production of drones across the entire spectrum—from small “mavics” to long-range models. He conveyed this information during his evening video address.
– Essentially, we require consistent and stable growth in the production and supply of all essential components of the unmanned systems to our forces, and we foresee promising prospects for the current year. We are also specifically concentrating on fiber-optic drones—since the beginning of this year, over 20 new certified models equipped with fiber-optic control systems have been developed. Currently, 11 of our Ukrainian enterprises have started manufacturing such drones, with the objective of achieving the maximum possible production and supply scale. Today, I ordered that contracts be finalized to the fullest extent possible, – emphasized Zelenskyy.
He also remarked on the encouraging progress regarding “deep strikes.” While the head of state could not provide specific numbers, he assured that the required capacity for our Defense Forces would be met this year.
The Head of State further mentioned that he had received the Foreign Minister's briefing concerning communications with our allies, discussing all actions in response to the ongoing brutal Russian attacks. “Russia must be held accountable for this war. And it will be held accountable in every possible manner,” Zelensky added.
- On April 5, Zelenskyy asserted that remaining silent about Russia's actions of killing children with ballistic missiles is both incorrect and dangerous, as it merely provokes the Russians to carry out additional war crimes.
- Zelensky also directed the Security Service of Ukraine to investigate the information leak regarding the latest US proposal to capitalize on Ukrainian assets.
